Welcome note to participating students

Dear Stage Stars,
Welcome aboard a unique vehicle to the world of imagination, wisdom and fun: the stage!
Let’s all hope that this amazing journey turns out to be a life-changing experience for all of us!

That being said… we have less than four months left for our performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, you actually have till next week to have learnt every single line of yours! (No buts…)

Here are the things you should do during the following week:

1. Study really hard!!!!!!!!!!! No kidding!

2. Find your teachers on Facebook/Messenger and add us, since we have to make a Messenger group (Stage Stars) in which we will be discussing issues that come up. (This will be the official page with no silly comments! Should you wish to just chat, you may create another group, thank you!)

3. After the group is formed on Messenger, the songs of the musical will be uploaded. It is up to you to learn them by heart (yeap, till next Sunday that is!).

4. We will never get the idea of what happens in ‘Annie’ if we don’t do some research. So… Search for the fact files behind the musical (you will be tested next week 😊).
Who first thought of and created ‘Annie’? (You will be surprised!)
Which year and which city is the musical placed in?
What is the social/financial situation of the time?
How do you think an orphan might have felt in such circumstances?
Some of the names of the musical actually have a real meaning. Try to guess what they imply!

5. Make sure you highlight all your lines (check for changes) and try to deeply understand your character. To achieve this, do some brainstorming! Write next to your lines how your character feels or anything you think might help you see through your role (for instance who made you feel this way and what you would like to do to this person). This will help you understand which gestures to make, what your style may be and how to actually become your role!

6. After doing this, spit the mirror! Όχι για να μη σας ματιάξετε! Stay in front of the mirror and rehearse, rehearse, rehearse! Try gestures, facial expressions, sing, spit (wipe and spit again!) until you get to like what you see. If it helps, record yourselves and try to understand what you would like to change.

That’s all folks! We are pretty sure you will get to do all of the above because we know you love what you are doing here: staging your whole existence!!!!! Keep up the good work guys!!!
